Clark County people directories range from agency contact lists to old volumes that sort residents by surname or street. Their entries serve different ends. A government directory reaches a department or public official. A campus directory identifies a faculty or staff member's unit. The Assessor roll lists an owner rather than every occupant, and a city directory may capture a household at one point in time. Start with the directory whose reason for listing a person matches the fact you need.

A directory entry is a lead, not proof that a person still holds a role or lives at an address. Clark County has high population turnover and many common names. Preserve middle initials, suffixes, unit names, dates, parcel numbers, and public titles, then compare those facts with a second official source.
Clark County Government Directories
Government people directories are best for reaching someone in a public role. The Las Vegas department directory leads by agency and public contact point. Clark County department pages, elected-official rosters, boards, commissions, agendas, and meeting packets add names, titles, terms, and official biographies. Nevada also maintains a state employee phone directory. None is a verified, complete residential or all-employee list.
Jurisdiction matters. Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, and Mesquite have their own city structures, while Paradise, Winchester, Spring Valley, Enterprise, and other unincorporated communities rely on Clark County for many services. A Las Vegas mailing address alone does not select the right directory. Use the county GIS jurisdiction layer when a department, board, permit contact, or local court seems to be missing.

When an individual is not listed, call the unit's main line or use its public contact form. A focused records request may seek an existing public roster, but Nevada law does not require staff to create a new directory. The request rules belong with Clark County public records access.
Clark County Education Directories
Education directories vary by institution. Clark County School District pages identify schools, departments, and official contact routes. Named staff detail may be limited, so the school page and main office are safer than guessing an email pattern. The College of Southern Nevada publishes campus and unit contacts. The UNLV directory searches public faculty and staff entries, while its Employee Locator can also search by supervisor name.
UNLV directory records can show a displayed name, title, department, campus location or mailstop, work telephone, institutional email, and a profile or unit link. Workday supplies position and supervisor data to the Employee Locator, while Archibus supplies workspace, work phone, and mailstop data. The sources refresh on different schedules, so a unit page or campus operator is the right check when an entry looks stale.

Yearbooks answer a different question. They can reconnect classmates through names, portraits, clubs, teams, and faculty lists, but they do not show a person's current location. Search school, library, and UNLV catalogs by the exact campus and year.
Clark County Record Name Directories
Several official records work like people directories even though that is not their main purpose. The Clark County Recorder index lists grantors, grantees, and other parties with a document type and recording date. Its online Official Records span begins in 1988, while microfilm reaches Clark County's creation in 1909. The Clark County Clerk, not the Recorder, runs the current marriage name search for certificates from 1909 forward.
The public voter files also resemble statutory directories, but protected fields are withheld under NRS 293.558. Registered Voter Services is an identity-gated personal lookup, not an open browse-all-names tool. The county's downloadable files can carry permitted registration and district data. Their status and election-history fields record registration and participation, never ballot choices.
These indexes describe a recorded relationship. A grantor may be a trustee or lender, not the occupant of a home. A marriage search establishes that the county indexed a certificate, while the ordered certified document is the proof product. Keep the role and record date beside every name.

Clark County Property Owner Directories
The Clark County Assessor Real Property Records hub is the county's chief owner directory. It offers searches by parcel number, owner name, address, subdivision name, subdivision owners, parcel type or book and page, and the parcel-number tree. Owner search accepts a required surname or company name, an optional first name, a phonetic option, and a choice between current records and present plus prior owners.
A parcel card may display the owner, tax-mail address, physical or situs address, 11-digit assessor parcel number, legal description, subdivision, assessed values, building facts, and transfer references. “Situs” means the place where the land sits. The mailing address is where the tax notice goes. It can point out of Nevada and does not prove residence.
Directory tip. Treat the Assessor as an owner roll, then confirm a transfer through the Recorder's instrument index and recorded deed.

Clark County License Directories
Professional and business directories can distinguish a person from others with the same name. SilverFlume can show a Nevada entity's legal name, status, formation date, entity type, registered agent and address, managers or officers when filed, and filing history. The Clark County Clerk's fictitious-firm-name index adds assumed names and filers. City or county business licensing then connects the entity to a local operating place.
Board-specific directories establish a public credential and its status. Useful Nevada sources include the State Bar directory, Medical Examiners, Nursing, Contractors Board, Real Estate Division, Cosmetology, and education licensure. A license entry may show a number, class, status, date, business link, or authorized discipline record. It does not show everyone who practices a trade.
Clark County has an unusually useful gaming directory layer. Nevada Gaming Control Board location and registration reports list regulated locations, names, addresses, and active registrations. A casino brand, licensed operator, registered entity, and landowner can be four different names, so check each directory for the relationship it actually records.
Clark County Historical Directories
Historical Clark County people directories require a catalog-first approach. The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District catalog can locate city directories, telephone books, school yearbooks, newspapers, and genealogy tools. Its licensed resources include Ancestry Library Edition for in-library use, MyHeritage Library Edition, and an obituary and death-notice database. Exact volumes and access points vary by branch, so ask reference staff to confirm the year and format before visiting.
UNLV holds four microfilm reels titled United States city directories, Nevada Territory for 1861 through 1882. Those reels predate Clark County and cover a wider region. Other verified holdings include a 1969 “Las Vegas, City Directories” subject folder, research notes drawn from directories and phone books from the 1930s through the 1960s, and local newspaper archives. None proves a complete year-by-year shelf run.

Clark County Directory Time Line
Clark County was created from Lincoln County in 1909. That date changes where a historical directory search should go. Earlier Las Vegas Valley land, probate, and court evidence may sit under Lincoln County or in territorial and state repositories. The Recorder's county microfilm begins at creation, and statewide birth and death registration begins later.

This 1909 boundary is a search hinge, not evidence that older people vanished from the record. It tells the researcher to change the place name and keeper used in the catalog.
Clark County Archive Directories
Nevada State Archives preserves state and county government material, photographs, maps, and manuscripts. UNLV Special Collections and Archives is the signature Southern Nevada source for oral histories, photographs, casino and entertainment records, community papers, maps, and organizational collections. These are collection directories, not open lists of all residents.
Strong local routes include Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage collections, Culinary Workers Union and Union Pacific collections, Historic Westside projects, and oral histories tied to Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Henderson industry, and the Nevada Test Site. A finding aid may identify officers, organizers, interviewees, family names, or a folder of event programs. Access rules apply at the collection or folder level.
Funeral-home notices, cemeteries, and newspapers can connect a deceased resident to relatives, schools, congregations, and service sites. Verify names and dates against death, probate, cemetery, or court evidence. Public chamber directories list member firms and public representatives, not all residents or private membership data.
Clark County Directories Gain Access
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District opened a new West Las Vegas Library in the Historic Westside on December 9, 2025. The roughly 41,000-square-foot branch expands access in a neighborhood central to early Las Vegas community history. It does not create a new all-resident directory, but it strengthens the library route for catalogs, newspapers, local collections, and staff help.
Clark County covers about 8,000 square miles. Outlying branches and the separate Boulder City, Henderson, and North Las Vegas library systems can hold hyper-local yearbooks, phone books, and history items that a valleywide catalog search misses. Call with the exact title, place, and year, then ask whether the item is digital, on microfilm, at one branch, or restricted to in-library use.
